The facilities were previously equipped mainly for protection against burglars and civilian attacks, but not against a military-coordinated assault, Staněk emphasized. As a result, the company that manages most of the data center market in the UAE began coordinating with the local army for their protection against drones and rockets – involving Patriot systems.

According to Iranian state television, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard targeted the facilities to reveal “the role of data centers in supporting the military and intelligence activities of the enemy.”
